Met deze eerste overzichtstentoonstelling op eigen bodem krijgt Pieter de Hooch eindelijk de aandacht waar hij met zijn statuur recht op heeft. Na Johannes Vermeer wordt Pieter de Hooch internationaal beschouwd als de beroemdste Delftse meester van de Gouden Eeuw.
De hier getoonde werken zijn alle in Delft gemaakt, toen hij op zijn hoogtepunt was.

The exhibition, Pieter de Hooch in Delft: From the shadow of Vermeer is the first retrospective of the artist’s work in his own country. After Vermeer, Pieter de Hooch is widely considered to be the most celebrated Delft master of the 17th century.

Joana Vasconcelos, ’I’m Your Mirror’

In de Kunsthal toont de overzichtstentoonstelling ‘I’m Your Mirror’ van Joana Vasconcelos  ruim dertig iconische sculpturen en installaties.
Joana Vasconcelos vormt alledaagse gebruiksvoorwerpen om tot verrassende metaforen, zoals een paar reusachtige naaldhakken samengesteld uit roestvrijstalen pannen, een hart van rood plastic bestek,  autovelgen en een zes meter hoge kroonluchter gemaakt van 14.000 tampons etc.

Kunsthal Rotterdam presents the retrospective exhibition ‘Joana Vasconcelos I’m Your Mirror’. Joana Vasconcelos transforms everyday utensils into surprising metaphors, such as a pair of giant stiletto heels made up of stainless steel pans, a heart of red plastic cutlery, a six-metre-high chandelier made of 14,000 tampons etc.

La Masse, Eglise St. Perdulphe

The Church of St. Perdulphe is a Catholic church, of Romanesque architecture, located in the small Bastide La Masse, in the territory of the commune of Les Junies, France.

The church was probably built in the late twelfth century.
On the south wall is a frieze depicting the Seven Deadly Sins. [pride, greed, lust, envy, voracity, fury, laziness] [Hoogmoed, hebzucht, lust, jaloezie, vraatzucht, woede, luiheid]
On the north wall shows two scenes from the Passion of Christ (Kiss of Judas and the Flagellation).
