Carel Visser (1928-2015) wordt gezien als een van de belangrijkste Nederlandse beeldhouwers van de 20ste eeuw. Kenmerkend voor het werk van Visser zijn de robuuste driedimensionale constructies waarin herhaling, stapeling en spiegeling centraal staan.
Minder bekend is het grafische werk van Visser, dat een essentieel onderdeel van zijn oeuvre vormt.

Characteristic for the work of Visser, the robust three-dimensional structures in which repetition, stack, and reflection are central. Less well known is the graphic work of Visser, which is a key part of his oeuvre.
